Review: Cordelia's Honor

Cordelia's Honor - Lois McMaster Bujold

I read this several years back while on vacation with a friend who was pregnant with her first child. One morning, we're lounging on the deck with coffee and she interrupts my reading to tell me how awful it is that pregnant women are never featured in SF.

"This book has a pregnant protagonist. Look, she's even a redhead, just like you!"

"One book. You can name one book."

"Hart's Hope, Excession, Friday-"

"I MEAN SCIENCE FICTION PEOPLE HAVE ACTUALLY HEARD OF!!!"

"Dune?"

"AAARGGGHHHHHHhhhhh..."

I guess she was looking for support and not information? Once again, I fail at life.
