Anathem - Neal Stephenson If I hadn't previously read Stephenson, I would have given up 20 pages in, which was as far as I got on a 2 hours flight. He makes you work for everything, but it seems worth it in the end.

About a year after I read it, I picked up the audiobook version for my husband because I knew that he would love this but never actually find the time to read it. We spent the next few weeks listening to all 28 discs and it is just delightful.
