The Coldest War (The Milkweed Triptych, #2) - Ian Tregillis You know how sometimes you read something awesome and fantastic that has all the right hooks to get really into you? And then it has a sequel that you get super excited about and devour as soon as you can get your hands on it only to find that the magic is all gone? Maybe your expectations were too high, or, if it’s the middle volume of a trilogy, maybe it’s was just all filler to get to the final volume?

The Coldest War is about as far from that experience as possible. It is brilliant. Bleak, relentless, inevitable - exactly what a universe with monsters and a mad precog should be. If you haven't already read Bitter Seeds, you should drop whatever you are doing and go get a copy right now (now, dammit!) so that you can enjoy reading this volume.
