The SFWA European Hall of Fame: Sixteen Contemporary Masterpieces of Science Fiction from the Continent
This book hit a lot of my sweet spots. Necessity trumping morality. Magic having a price. Death and destruction. And, of course, grey.It's like someone dug through my brain, extracted what I think should be entertainment and then said, "well, that's nice, but I can do better" and then did.
I'm very interested in seeing where this series goes and sad I have to wait.
